Week 31: Muiden/Den Haag

A somewhat mixed bag this week, including images from my home, The Hague, and from a little town nearby called Muiden.

The first image is from Muiden. It is a lovely small town on a canal, but rather than a nice boat image, I spotted these two children peeking out of a doorway:

A few days later we were in another small town on the water, called Giethoorn, where I noticed this woman using a hash pipe to smoke a plain cigarette:

Later in the week, I went to The Hague. I don’t go there very often; compared with Amsterdam or Utrecht, Den Haag is a sleepy town with government as its main industry. But my sister, visiting from Poland, wanted to see the Dutch capital, so we drove down there and walked around. My first image from there is called “no respect”:

The next one is an abstract image of some the city’s modern architecture:

And the last one from The Hague is from the shopping district, where one of the clothing shops had an usually lifelike mannequin sitting outside:

The last four images of the week are of my pets, taken one evening when I came home from work. My dog is always eager to greet me, so she sticks her head out through an opening in the fence:

My cat, on the other hand, is a dignified animal who likes to sleep on the hood of a car:

Instead of an eager greeting, I get a yawn:

Following which, the cat stretches and leaves the car to go and sleep somewhere else:
