We live about 40 km from the centre of Amsterdam, and one of our favourite Sunday outings is to drive into the city and walk around, as we did on Sunday 12th March. The shops in the centre are open on Sundays, so my wife and the children can have their shopping urges satisfied while I take pictures in what is one of my favourite locations. I often park my daughter at the Waterstone’s bookshop on Kalverstraat. She sits in the comfortable window sill sofa on the 3rd floor and browses:

In the meantime, I explore the city. This time I went into a bar to have a cup of coffee and was greeted by this sight:

Earlier in the week I had stopped in the town of Zaltbommel on my way to work to take some more pictures of the snow and fog:

A couple of days later I stopped in Zaltbommel again. The weather had warmed, and all that beautiful snow had turned into slush and mud. By the river a flock of horses can usually be found grazing:
