This week’s blog continues the art theme of Week 45. Our exhibition at the office was formally inaugurated on Thursday, and on Friday we met up with a local artist who showed us around his exhibition on the centre of Alicante. And the city is now decorated for Christmas. So a colourful blog this week in more than one respect.

We formally opened the exhibition at lunchtime on Thursday, coinciding with the semi-annual meeting of our management board. A subset of the exhibitors posing for a photo, including yours truly:

I took some posed pictures on request, such as this one of my two Greek friends, Lila and Eri:

Eri wanted a photo with me as well:

I started Friday morning with my usual bike ride, and saw some nice morning light, not over the sea but over the hills:

And Friday evening, I saw some lovely late afternoon light on the hill overlooking Alicante, with the Moorish Castillo Santa Barbara at the top:

We were in the centre to meet up with local artist Aurelio Ayela. He showed us around his exhibition at the Museo del Agua (called that because it is owned by the local water utility). This installation is called El Reino Caído (the fallen kingdom). Photographing in that light was a challenge, to put it mildly:

After the visit to Aurelio’s exhibition we walked to a nearby bar. On the way, I photographed the full moon over Calle San Juan:

While walking back to my car, I enjoyed seeing the city with the lights:

On the Esplanada de España there is a giant Christmas ornament, a popular place for photos and selfies:
