Three main events this week: I cycled to Jijona to see if the life-size outdoor nativity scene there had been installed, and it had. So the season is truly upon us. In adition, we held the official opening of our photo exhibition at the office, with a performance by our office choir. And finally, a dear colleague whom I have known ever since coming to the office 17 years ago retired after 28 years of service.

I start with some cycling pictures from the harbour in El Campello, actually taken a couple of weeks earlier. But I had forgotten to include them that week, and since I like them, I include them here. First, the harbour with the old guard tower:

Finally, a photo of an apartment building overlooking the harbour, channelling Andreas Gursky:

On Sunday I cycled to Jijona to see the nativity scene. I see it every year and it always impresses me. It is mounted in natural surroundings on the outskirts of the town:

My car was in the garage part of the week, so I used public transport to get to work. Here is an ominous cloud over the beach, photographed one evening at my local tram stop:

On Thursday we held the vernissage of our photo exhibition in the office. Kari, the president of our art club WeArt, opens the required bubbly:

The choir then performed for us:

My good friend Eri was there too:

The choir is led by Janet, an American lady who lives in Alicante and makes her living from teaching voice. She is very dynamic and on this occasion kind of took part herself:

On Friday my colleague Wilma retired after working at the office for 28 years. Because of her long tenure here, many people came by to see her off. Her boss gave a short speech:

On Saturday afternoon I went to the centre to buy some things at the Chinese supermarket there. Afterwards, I stopped for a beer at my favourite bar, Malatesta. There were few people in the bar at 5 p.m., but one person there was there was this little chihuahua:
