Last weekend, I went to see a meet of VW Beetle enthusiasts in the small town of Rosmalen, near Den Bosch. On the way, I stopped in the town of Zaltbommel, which has provided me with many photo opportunities during the past year. There was a market going on in the centre of town:

Zaltbommel is the kind of town where people know each other. All the shopping is in the centre of town, so people meet while shopping and stop for a conversation, like these two ladies. The picture is shot from the “wrong side” as is evident from the flare in the background, but I like it anyway:

Outside the Albert Heijn supermarket there is a bicycle rack:

Then I went on to Rosmalen. There was a large meeting of afficionados of air-cooled VW cars; mostly Beetles in various states of enhancement, but also vans like the classic hippie minibuses from the 1960s, which I suppose were the forerunners of today’s minivans:

Then, last Friday we had a barbecue at the office, as we do occasionally. We start right after work, and people bring their partners and children:

Some also bring their dogs, like this very well-behaved specimen:

And finally, this little girl has found something interesting:
