On the way home from Poland, I stopped for the night in Berlin to visit Martine, a Canadian friend who works at the embassy there. She lives on Potsdamer Platz, in what used to be no man’s land but is now filled with shiny new office buildings, apartments and shops. All the week’s images are from there.
The main image and the first alternate are night views from Potsdamer Platz, one in colour and the other in B&W:

The alternates:

Inside the newly opened Holocaust Memorial:

Office building viewed from the 10th floor of the Canadian embassy:

Martine is a keen photographer too. She uses a newly acquired Nikon D200:

…which means that for once there is a picture of me as well, with a nice-sized German beer:

Here is our waitress at the restaurant:

And finally, on the way up to Martine’s apartment, a self-portrait:

Very much like the main picture taken at the Sony Center. Good composition and good colour rendition. Had never noticed the blue lines on the inside sidewalk before and I have been there many times. Good eye! Nice website. M.

Love all your shots, did spot a couple of familiar faces … Berlin is such a great place to wander with camera in hand. As usual great photographer’s eye and originality (nice gear too!). L
